Hamlet Dramaturgy

Informing Bethany Lutheran College's Spring 2013 Production. Shows at: April 19, 20, 26, 27 at 7:30pm and April 21 at 2pm

Hi there! I am Lydia Grabau, the dramaturg for Bethany Lutheran College’s Spring 2013 production of Hamlet.

This is me. A beacon of knowledge on your Shakespearean journey.

I first read William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” my senior year of high school in an English class. It’s safe to say I was rather fond of the play. When I discovered the BLC Theatre Dept. would be doing this show the same semester I would be writing my English thesis I saw my two majors colliding in a glorious cacophony of liberal arts interdisciplinarism.

This blog will serve as an easy-to-access online resource of videos, articles, and facts that I find as I research William Shakespeare, Hamlet, and the concepts behind our specific production.

I hope this is only a stepping stone in your own exploration and that you can bring your own thoughts and ideas to the community on this blog. Feel free to comment on posts, email me with interesting things you find about your character or a concept, and don’t hesitate to ask in person about more information!
