David Tennant in RSC’s Hamlet

This is David Tennant’s performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2009 film production of “Hamlet.” His style is a little more chaotic than other Hamlets and his vocal interpretation of the character is one of my personal favorites. The aesthetic of the film has a modern stylization and utilizes several different kinds of cameras to emphasis a sense of paranoia and claustrophobia that would have been present in the court of a monarch. In this version Patrick Stewart plays Claudius. I thought his take on acting was an important one to include in this post.
